The 7th and 8th graders at St. Patrick's Grammar School in Portsmouth, NH, spent five Fridays during Lent painting the Face of Christ. The students each painted his or her own icon themselves in the traditional manner, using egg-tempera on wood. Click here to read an article about the experience.

The icons were all blessed during the liturgy of Holy Week. Then the students took their icons home for the Easter.
